Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens Specifications

bythom nikon 70-200mm

Thom's Commentary: Until the Sony Mark II version came along, this Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 was the best fast telephoto zoom on the market, bar none. Yes, it's marginally better than the Nikon F-mount version that previously was holding the title. As an S-line lens you get all the usual trappings: extra lens control ring, function buttons, and the OLED information display. As a telephoto zoom, you get Nikon’s basic rotating tripod collar with removable foot. The only disappointment with this lens—particularly when the other f/2.8 zooms started appearing—is that it is a big size and weight, pretty much like the old DSLR versions. Canon came up with a collapsing option. Sony came up with a lighter version. But optically? No, this lens won’t disappoint. It’s even a strong performer with the optional teleconverters in a pinch.
