Leica Announces New Monochrom

Leica today announced a new version of the M-Monochrom (Typ 246) camera, basically bringing the black and white M up to the same standards as the current M (Typ 240). That means 24mp CMOS sensor, a 3” 921k dot LCD out back, real Live View with focus peaking and magnification, and a host of other changes. The top ISO value bumps from 10,000 to 25,000. You can even create black and white video in 1080P (only at 24 and 25 fps, though).

Yes, it gets the sapphire glass over the LCD. All for US$7450 when the camera ships in July.
