Thom's Commentary: Here’s why you buy the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens: you want a competent wide angle to telephoto option with as much range as possible so that you never have to change lenses. You also want that to be “travel small and light.” The 24-200mm may be the ultimate one-lens travel solution for you. It's the best superzoom Nikon has made. But realize that it is a superzoom, so that means compromises compared to the fast, fixed aperture mid-range zooms. 200mm is weak compared to other ways of getting to that focal length in the Z-mount, but it’s—I wrote it earlier—competent.
