- Thom's Short Comment: Yes, I understand the desire for long focal length lenses that are light. However, be sure you really need this much lens. On smaller, near objects keeping it on a moving subject is difficult, and with far objects you have to worry about atmospheric conditions between you and the subject. But optically really good, and about the lightest 800mm you're going to find that's near this aperture.
