Why Did Some Dates Change?

The sansmirror site was officially mothballed on 1/1/2026. It wasn’t touched after that.

Until today. As part of my testing of a new Web site building application I wrote (!), I decided to do some initial testing of it on sansmirror, partly because it’s a static site so would be easier to sleuth issues on. Two of the changes that I put into my application had to do with dates and header styles. Dates are now at the top of a page. Sub-headers are now all correctly site-wide styled (before they had been individually styled, and a bit inconsistently). The menu when you access this site on a small screen, such as that of a phone, has been simplified so that it doesn’t scroll forever.

When I applied all these new elements to the existing site, some pages got updated, and they’ll now show a last update in October 2026. I didn’t, however, change content, only applied consistent styling, so the “last updated” now is picking up styling changes and updating the date.

All the application changes I just made should make the sansmirror site a little more stable, a little more consistent, a little smaller and faster overall, and a little more usable. But I haven’t added, removed, or changed any content in the process.

Let me know if you find any issues with the new site. Since I now control the application that generates the site, it’s easy enough for me to tweak anything that might have gotten dislodged in the update process.
