Tamron today announced their new 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 DI III VC lens for the Sony E-mount (NEX). The lens will begin shipping in mid-December. The focal length range is approximately equivalent to a 27-300mm lens on a film or full frame digital body, essentially what some users refer to as the all-around lens. At about one pound and only about four inches long, the lens is slightly lighter and smaller than Sony's own 18-200mm option. The lens has built in image stabilization and features a 62mm filter thread. The lens comes in silver or black versions and comes with lens hood. Pricing wasn't announced.
