Fujifilm Updates Lens Roadmap, Announces Lens

Fujifilm today announced the 56mm f/1.2 XF R lens for their mirrorless cameras, a fast moderate telephoto lens that's reasonably small and fills in one of the gaps in the lens lineup. The lens will be available in February at US$1000.

Along with the lens, Fujifilm updated their lens road map for the X mount, adding another prime (unspecified fast wide angle) and four zooms to the 2014 offerings (16-55mm f/2.8 OIS, 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS, 50-140mm f/2.8 OIS, and an unspecified super telephoto zoom). I've added these lenses to the Fujifilm lens page on this site, along with a new data page for the 56mm.

This brings the available lens count up to 12, with 5 additional lenses coming this year (plus, of course, lenses from other makers, such as Samyang and the three Zeiss Touit lenses that Fujifilm has on the road map). Note that the number of lenses went 4, 6, and projected 7 if calculated by year, or an average of a little over 5 a year.
